

Seaside ~ Charles Evans passed away at his home on October 1 with his wife and daughters by his side. Born in Hanford, California, he came to the Monterey Peninsula as an infant and has made his home here ever since. He was an operating engineer for over thirty-five years.
Charles was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, the Italian Catholic Federation and Festa Italia in Monterey and American Legion Post, # 591 in Seaside. He was a long-time member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, #5261 in Seaside as well as a 4th Degree Knight, Santa Rosalia Branch. Charles enjoyed gardening and making his home welcoming to everyone.
Charles is survived by Nadine, his wife of forty-one years; his children, Charles Jr. (Gena), Deanna (Ryan) and Kathy (Arthur); his siblings, Carolyn Roberts and Stanley and Harry Evans and his grandchildren, Charles, III, William, Briana, Robin, Stephanie, Julian and Seth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Kitty Evans, and his brother, Dexter Evans.
Visitation will be at Bayside Community Mortuary, Sunday, October 6 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church tomorrow, October 7, at 11:00 AM followed by entombment at San Carlos Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Restoration Fund, 1475 LaSalle, Seaside, 93955 or to the donor’s favorite charity.
