Leon Jeffries retired from the Army after 20+ years of service. He received the meritorious service medal and was a Sergeant first class. He was a long time resident of Monterey County, having lived here for 33 years. First he was stationed at Fort Ord, and after retiring from the service he lived in Marina.
Leon was a loving husband to his wife, Harriet Christiansen, whom he married in 1963, a caring and beloved neighbor, friend to many, and strong in faith. He often talked of friending people; many of his stories of his interactions with others included discussions of God and of examples or lessons from the Bible.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Jeffries.
