
Alice Marie (Gissel) Rundstrom was born on June 13, 1909 and raised in Kenmare, ND. She attended a North Dakota teacher's college and then Dana College in Nebraska where she met her husband of 56 years, Pastor GB Rundstrom. Alice and her husband raised 7 children and lived in North Dakota, Oregon and Washington State. She participated with her husband in ministry, played piano and organ, taught bible studies, led women's and other church groups, taught piano and voice lessons and sang in and directed church choirs. Her hobbies included making beautiful cross-stitch portraits, stamp collecting, gardening and traveling--including taking trips to Denmark with her husband to visit relatives. Her life was always centered around her family, ministry and her love of the Lord. In June her family celebrated her 100th birthday with a family reunion at which all family members were present and where Alice played a piano piece she learned for the occasion! After 2 recent strokes and a brief illness, she passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 17, 2009.
Alice Rundstrom was preceded in death by her husband GB, her son Paul and her grandson Kirk Rundstrom. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Bernhard and Carolyn Rundstrom; son Daniel Rundstrom and partner Cindy McCain; daughters and sons-in-law Anna Marie and Robert Larson, Irma and Don Goertzen, Alice and Charles Dahlen, and Ruth and Larry Scott. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
