Carolyn Hurley, a lifetime resident of Snohomish County Washington, and also Niobrara County in Wyoming where she spent 13 years after her retirement on the family ranch, passed away on October 21, 2024. Carolyn was the daughter of Keith Whitehouse McAnulty and Margaret Burgess McAnulty of Lynnwood Washington and sister to John Frederick McAnulty of Portland Oregon. Carolyn is survived by her son Curtis Robb. Her daughter Tamara Bredstrand is deceased. Her grandchildren Jessica Bredstrand and Sarah Bredstrand, Kyle Robb and Kelsey Robb. Great grandchildren Akili Walker, Hector Bredstrand, Kaylie and Adrian Robb-Davis, Sister in law Katharine McAnulty, Nephew Robert McAnulty and family. Carolyn lived a rich and full life. She attended Lynnwood Jr High and Edmonds High School then started her career in accounting and credit management. She worked as a credit manager for SnoCo Credit union, Nordstrom credit union, Seattle Times credit union, AAA fire and Safety controller and finished her career in the credit dept for Evergreen Washelli funeral home. She gained continued education in accounting from Arizona State University and the University of Wisconsin. Carolyn enjoyed many things in her life. One of her favorite activities was to watch and follow the University of Washington athletics. Football was her favorite but also the woman’s Softball team and the school Rowing teams. She would sit on the Mountlake cut watching the rowers anytime she had a chance and could be seen at Husky stadium every Saturday at football home games being a season ticket holder for over 20 years. Carolyn volunteered much of her time to work with Debtors Anonymous where she served on their Board of Directors as Treasurer. During her retirement and while living on her Wyoming Ranch she volunteered at the Wyoming Woman’s Prison leading and church and Debtors Anonymous group, mentoring the ladies in the prison and giving of herself to the betterment of the ladies lives while in prison and out once released. Carolyn also had a favorite hobby. Making homemade greeting cards. She would make her cards for the birthdays and other occasions for folks in local nursing homes in the Wyoming town she lived in. Also making her cards for all occasions celebrated by her family and friends, Birthdays, Christmas, etc. Carolyn also enjoyed collecting Jewelry having one of the finest Turquoise collections in Wyoming and Washington states. She loved collecting her jewelry but also believed in wearing her jewelry and not keeping it stored away in some dark safe. She would wear different pieces of her jewelry whenever she went anywhere. I don’t think she ever went anywhere where she was not given compliments on how beautiful she looked wearing her Turquoise and other pieces. She always said jewelry was meant to be worn and not put away and forgotten about. Carolyn will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She was such a loving and caring mother and friend to so many. She will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Momma!
