

Carolyn Sisley passed away on May 12, 2025 She celebrated her 96th birthday just 10 days prior.
Carolyn was raised on Orcas Island. She worked on the family farm, and scooped ice cream at the Bungalow cafe. She graduated from Orcas Island High School in 1947. Carolyn went to Seattle Pacific College. She worked in the Smith Tower as a secretary.
Carolyn married Jim Sisley in 1960. They had 2 daughters, Susan and Ann. Carolyn was a stay at home mom while the girls went to elementary school. She volunteered as a Room Mother. She also volunteered as a precinct committee chairperson during the 1960s elections.
She went back to work as an administrative assistant and worked many years at the University of Washington. During that time, Carolyn was also instrumental in the medical business Jim started, making Broviac and Hickman catheters. Evermed would not have been successful without Carolyn's hard work.
After Jim passed, Carol reconnected with her high school boyfriend, Dan White. They lived at Emerald Heights until Carol's passing.
Carol was very creative. She sewed many of her clothes as well as clothes for her girls. She taught her girls to sew at a young age, a skill which they continue to use. She also enjoyed making quilts. Carol took classes in cake decorating and then taught her girls what she learned. Carol was quite the gardener and kept her yard looking very pretty.
Carol accomplished quite a bit in her 96 years. Carol is survived by her 2 daughters, Susan (Stewart) and Ann (Scott) and grandchildren Amanda and Bobby
