Charlene was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother to her birth children as well as a surrogate to many others. She was very active in her community as a Renaissance Drill Team Mom, Football and Basketball Mom, as well as the Neighborhood Mom to all of the children. She was an active member of her church until she became too ill to attend. She was known as one of the best ushers in the city and she rocked many fussy babies when they became too much for their mommies to handle. Mother Mitchell as she was respectfully referred to had a great rapport with young people. She provided council and sound correction when needed. Charlene loved to cook, can fresh fruits and vegetables and quilt. However, her favorite passions were fishing and spending quality time with her grand-children.
