Darrell Albert Busch, age 85, unexpectedly passed away on July 10th, 2022 following a fall at his home. Darrell was the first-born child of Walter and Mildred Busch in Luverne, MN, on November 28th, 1936. He was followed by his six siblings Elaine, Dale, Sister Mildred, Joan, Mary and Wayne. They were all raised on the family farm in Rock County Minnesota. Darrell attended 8 years of country school before he graduated from Garretson High School in 1954 and went on to attend South Dakota State University for both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Computer Science, which he finished in 1968.
Darrell was introduced to his future wife Loretta by his sister Elaine. They were married for 53 years before her passing in 2012. They went on to have three children, Randy (Anna), Sandra (Mark Stever), and Thomas. He moved his family three times during that time in search of better opportunities for both he and his family. First from Pipestone, MN, to Brookings S.D., then to Houston, TX and finally to Kirkland WA, where he was employed by Boeing Computer Services for 25 years.
Darrell was a gifted man of unlimited knowledge and passion for many things. His greatest passion began with his study of animal husbandry as well as his passion for horse racing, of which he owned several racehorses at Longacre's racetrack in Renton, WA. Anyone who encountered Darrell knew how proud he was of his family strengths. He always made it a point to tell people how important his upbring was by describing to them how he never had an indoor bathroom until he was a freshman in high school and how that made him appreciate all that he was able to accomplish in his life.
He is survived by his 6 siblings, his 3 children, 9 grandchildren Nicole, Anthony, Nathan, Benjamin, Timothy, Shane, Camaro, Carlie and Demi, 18 great-grandchildren plus one on the way and 1 new great-great grandchild. As well has many nieces, nephews, and cousins, just too darn many to count.
Roman Catholic Mass services will be held at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Garretson, S.D. Final interment awaiting his heavenly Father will occur in the Garretson Catholic Cemetery.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Evergreen-Washelli.com for the Busch family.
