Delaphine Dellie Estella Schafer

Dellie was born on October 16, 1937 to Emil and Martha Lennick in Blue Grass, North Dakota. Her Life ended on March 25, 2013 from cancer. She fought a courageous battle against this awful disease. She will always be remembered for her radiant smile and contagious laugh. She would light up a room. She enjoyed gardening, cleaning, Bingo, casino fun, cooking for her boys and friendships. She worked on the farm in Blue Grass with her sister and parents in her youth. She graduated from Beulah High School. She also had various waitressing jobs in Beulah. Dennis Gabriel Schafer and Delaphine Estella Lennick were married on October 15, 1954. She and Dennis had four boys; Dennis Jr, Delton, Denton and Daylen. Dellie moved to Seattle in 1956 and was a homemaker for her growing family. As the children grew, she grew restless and wanted to become employed again. Dellie started as a playground teacher/cook for the Highline School District. She then went to work for KFC. She also worked for Avon for 45 years up until her death. She thanks all her customers and friends for allowing her to be their “Avon Lady”.

Dellie was preceded in death by her parents and son, Dennis Jr. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her sons, Delton (Sharon), Denton (Lori), Daylen (Tina); grandchildren, Tasha, D.J., Jessica, Desiree, Beau, Gabe, Coe and Demi; great grandchildren, JJ, Caden, Gavin, Drayden, Colby, Ava, Morgan, Gabrielle, Auric and Madilynn; and her sister, Florence Winkler.
