

Lori is survived by her children; Valerie Van Gelder of Lynnwood, WA, Emery Beck of Tacoma, WA, Melanie Anthony (Bill) of Schaumburg, IL, Doralyn Cloward (Gregg) of Rathdrum, ID, Eugene Beck (Laurinda LJ) of SeaTac, WA, Coleen Bean (Tom) of Lynnwood, WA, and Candace Savoy (Michael) of Lynnwood, WA, and sister Helen Bechold of Grand Forks, ND. She is also survived by 11 granddaughters: Melissa McMillon, Joni Foster, Katherine Wilkinson, Vanessa Beck, Sarah Bethea, Megan Bean, Erin Bean, Allison Bean, Tarah Cloward, Alexandra Baker, and Chelsea Baker, and two grandsons: Richard Cloward and Nathan Beck. She also had nine step grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Harley W. Beck.
Lori was born on May 30, 1930 in Fargo, ND. She graduated from Model High School in Minot, ND in 1947 with a certificate in teaching. She worked as a teacher in a one room school house in North Dakota before she married Harley W. Beck on September 9, 1948. After moving to Sawyer, ND, Lori became a housewife and started their family in 1950.
Her children and grandchildren remember her as a strong, independent woman who was a kind, giving person who would open her home to anybody. She was the ship among the dinghies.
She was an accomplished gardener and especially loved dahlias. She had a vision for quilting and a great eye for design.
