Dorothy E. Valentine

Dorothy E. Valentine, 79, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008 at home with her family in Marysville.

Mom was born in Fresno, CA. on January 29, 1929. She graduated from high school in Madera, eventually moving to Santa Cruz where she worked for Bell Telephone as an Operator. She moved to Washington with her family in 1968 where she worked for Everett General Hospital for several years. She then returned to work for Bell Telephone in Seattle until her retirement in 1990.

She is preceded in death by her son Larry, daughter Ann-Marie and her sister Ginny.

Mom had a love for books, writing poetry, politics and most of all keeping in touch with family and many friends. If you hadn't talked with someone for a while, mom had. For many years, she had to start making out Christmas cards in November.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Tom Johnson of San Diego, son Tim Denise Morelli of Marysville, Grandchildren; Michelle Barrack, Lisa John Diefel, Anthony Morelli, Alyese Morelli, four great-grandsons and brothers, Lewis Meg Cross, Dan Sandy Cross and Don Ginny Reeves.

A special thank you to all of mom's friends and our family for your calls and cards. You meant so much to her and she loved you all.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on April 5th at 2:00 PM at 4900 80th St. NE, Marysville, WA.
