So sorry to hear of Duane's passing.  He was a pretty cool guy.

Growing up next door to the Boivin's I spent a lot of time with his son's
Rick, Bob and Terry.  We were in Scouts together and Duane often bravely volunteered to assist on events and campouts.   It took a special person to handle what us kids dished out sometimes.  But I can't remember him ever truly  getting mad…Frustrated yes, but his mild manner always prevailed.

Duane clearly mastered fishing.  He knew that science, or is it art, like nobody else. I can't think of any time he and the boys ever came home without a boatload of fish.   You would think living next door one could at least pick up some of that skill through osmosis…No such luck for me.

Duane was a good neighbor too.  He was always willing to lend you a hand and help you drink your beer.  Many times I'd find him and dad sitting down, tipping back a few, and solving all of Boeing's problems.  And I know I appreciated both he and Nancy looking in after my folks in their later years.  They're the Best!

Duane, Rest in Peace Man.   
And if you get a chance, remember to look up dad… I'm sure he has a cold one waitin' for ya.

55+ years of memories; where does a person start.  36th Avenue was quite the neighborhood and you livened the place up.  Sure, I remember ALL the salmon you caught but no one could top New Years celebration like you!  I remember specifically one New Years at Mid-night and all of us kids outside were making all the noice possible with pots and pans,screaming and yelling "Happy New Year" when all of a sudden you shot off your shot gun and yelled "Top That!!!" you guys. My favorite memory of Uncle Duane is from the later 60's.  Out back at the picnic table he was cleaning Salmon roe for bait and had yellow jackets all over his hands and buzzing around him.  I was sitting well away and asked How can you do that?  To which he replied if you don't bother them, they won't bother you.  What a great guy.  I never heard an unkind word from him even when I deserved a chewing out.  He had a way to admonish young people that made us learn and pay attention.

I have so many memories of Mr. Boivan and his lovely family. He was an amazing man who with the help of his wife raised amazing kids. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Mr. B. What can I say? You were so amazing to all of us girls. I hung out at your home, you took me camping with you. My thoughts and prayers go to all. May you rest peace.

It's hard to think about a parent not being there anymore.  He wasn't really my Dad, but when I was in Jr high and high school I think I spent as much time at the Boivin's as I did at my own home.  I think l'll miss the hunting and fishing stories, quick wit, great grin and the best jokes.  Rest in peace, I bet the fishing is great there.

I don't remember Mr Boivin all that well, I just know he was a straight shooter and raised some great kids.

He is the coolest guy I know.  He put me through school.  He helped me through a very rough time in my life.  He was there for me no matter what.  I can't say enough.  I hope your up there fishing and hunting in heaven.  I will miss you so much and thank you for everything!!!  Your the best!!!  I love you!!!
