Edward A. Tony Hansen, age 94. Edward was born in Seattle in 1920. He graduated from West Seattle High and then from Edison Tech, now known as Burnley School of Art. He joined the Navy during World War II, where he became a chief petty officer aboard the USS Salinas. After the war, he had a long and successful career as a commercial artist, primarily for Frederick and Nelson. He enjoyed creating fine art as well. A lifelong Congregationalist, he grew up in Fauntleroy Church in Seattle, where he remained a member for most of his life. He was active with Neighbors in Need and Habitat for Humanity. He also sponsored the relocation of Chilean refugee families to this country.
Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife Jeanne Hansen, daughter Laura Hansen, and sons Christopher and Leith Hansen, as well as two grandchildren, Elspeth Hansen and Samuel Hansen.
A memorial service will be held at Fauntleroy Church on Thursday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Fauntleroy Church.
