
Elizabeth Gail Sawyer passed away peacefully at her home on January 18, 2008, with her family at her side. Gail was born May 21, 1946 in Ogden, Utah, the first child of Robert and Dolores Harnois. She grew up in Layton, Utah. Gail worked for the Utah State Library Commission and the Associated Press. Gail married Jim Sawyer on February 22, 1978 in the LDS Ogden Temple and they moved to Seattle, WA. In Seattle, Gail worked as a medical transcriptionist most recently for the Seattle Women's Clinic. Gail and Jim were blessed with three daughters, Melissa Stephan Capps, Ashley Mario Prudente, and Megan Dan Edmonds; two step-sons, Michael and Matthew Sawyer; and six grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents. Gail was an avid fan of music, sports, and dogs. She was active in the L.D.S. church where she held many leadership positions. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at the Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave. North in Seattle. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, at the LDS church, 11001 Harbour Pointe Blvd. in Mukilteo, followed by a burial at the Edmonds Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the church an hour prior to services.
