She was born August 14, 1943, in Sumas, Washington, to Verna and Peter Price. She was raised in Lynden, Washington, on the family farm with her 5 siblings; Wally, Dale, Ken, Alice, and Jerry.
Erma graduated from Western Washington University in 1965 with her degree in Education. She spent her first few years of teaching in the Seattle School District as an elementary school teacher and foreign language consultant. Although she enjoyed this time, her true joy was found teaching middle schoolers at College Place Middle School. She began teaching Spanish, German, and Math, but quickly transitioned to teaching computers. Computers became her love and her specialty.
She married Gillen Snook, of Seattle, Washington, on June 26, 1965. They bought their home and moved to Lynnwood in 1970. This is where they raised their two children, Robert "Rob" Snook and Melanie (Snook) Mueller. Erma was a wonderful mom, she was not just a great mom to her own kids but was often considered to be a second mom to many of her kids’ friends. She was known best for being warm, welcoming, and kind.
In addition to being an involved mom and a teacher, Erma also had many hobbies. She loved to read and was a very prolific reader. It was not uncommon for her to read multiple books a week. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing cards, and playing the piano. Although she loved all of these things, her favorite past time was spending time with her beloved grandchildren: Koen, Kiley, and Klaire. She was an amazing Grandma and was very involved in their activities.
After retiring from teaching, Erma turned her considerable organizational abilities to helping out with the Retired Teacher’s Association.Throughout her many years of service she; held officer positions, distributed the Association’s Newsletter, and maintained the group’s records and mailing list. She really enjoyed her time working with this special group and all of the wonderful friends she made there.
Erma is survived by her husband, Gil, her son and daughter in law: Rob Snook and Ginger Ferguson of Kenmore, her daughter and son in law: Melanie (Mel) and Regan Mueller of Mukilteo, her three grandchildren: Koen, Kiley, and Klaire, and her brother Ken of Marysville.
