Mom wrote in her journals every day. In the morning she?d read from ?The Daily Word,? her Bible and other books and she?d write some thoughts down. Over the years she filled up quite a few journals with thoughts and quotes, here are a few entries:
?The World is not a playground, it is a schoolroom. Life is not a holiday, but education, and the one eternal lesson for us all is how better we can love.?
?My daily prayer for many years - I place my life, my loved ones, and all that concerns me, in God?s care and keeping and I thank God for all I have, for all I have had, and for all the future holds. I do this not to remind God but to renew my faith. I believe God loves each one of us as though each one were His ?Only Child.? I believe this because as a human being I love our children this way and if I know this love, certainly this is God?s love for each and everyone of us and our pact is to accept this gift of love.?
?God meets all our needs but not all our desires.?
?Doing your best is more important that being the best.?
?Hold only to the positive, good memories that relate to your family and friends.?
?Life depends on what we choose to emphasize - I choose to emphasize the love of family and friends.?
Mom was very much at peace in the hospital, she wasn?t frightened or worried. She was probably most concerned with her sons staying close after she was gone.
