Florence Marion Anderson

Born November 2, 1917 in Seattle passed away in her sleep at the age of 84 on October 5, 2002. Florence and her husband Ralph of 63 years were long-term residents of Ballard and Lake Sammamish. Ralph and Florence were owners of General Home Appliance in downtown Seattle. Florence was preceded in death by her parents Emily and John S. Johnson of Seattle; sister Betty Tomlinson of Santa Clara, CA; son in law Ken Moultrie of Seattle and granddaughter Kari Jo Knutson of Lake Stevens. She leaves her husband Ralph and her daughters Darlene Knutson and her husband Leonard, Norma U?Ren and her husband Ray and Judy Weitz and her husband Bill; grandchildren Dean, Dale, Andy, Beth and Scott; great grandchildren Tucker, Tynan, Karsten, Lars, Justice and Austin. Our mother was an accomplished woman ahead of her time. She managed General Home Appliance while balancing family, friends and church. She taught her daughters to value friends and to participate in athletics. She enjoyed skiing, golf, and was an avid swimmer. Florence and Ralph retired in 1975 and began splitting their time between Lake Sammamish and Mesa, Arizona. They continued to snowbird up until 2 years ago when they moved to Lake Stevens to be closer to their family. A memorial celebration will be Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at 2:00pm held at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home 11111 Aurora Ave N. Seattle, WA 98103.
