Frank David Hornung

Frank David Hornung was born on January 17, 1944, in Seattle, WA, to Frank Murrell and Dorothy Florence (Reetz) Hornung. His parents were missionaries from Bethel Temple, in Seattle, to Colombia, South America, during difficult, revolutionary years. At 2 years of age, he moved with them to Colombia and returned to live in the United States at 14 years old. After graduating from West Seattle High School, Frank attended Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz, CA, and completed computer training at Peterson Business School in Seattle.

Frank married Ingrid Larsson at Philadelphia Church on February 5, 1965. They were blessed with one daughter, Sherilyn Ann, married to David Sandquist, and one son, Frank Timothy, married to Lisa Walkley Hornung. He has 5 grandchildren, Aaron, Alyssa, Blake, Kevin and Michael.

While employed at Firestone in the late 1960’s, the family moved to Spokane, WA, for about 8 years, where they attended Spokane Valley A of G. Frank was on the church board and volunteered in many areas of church ministry. During most of the years in Spokane, he worked for Columbia Lighting.

In 1977, the family moved to the Everett area where they worshipped God at Silver Lake Chapel and he worked for Key Tech. Frank served on the church board as treasurer for many years and was employed as the church business manager for 5 years there. In 2000 Frank and Ingrid started attending Westgate Chapel and later Cedar Park.

Frank was a loving, kind and helpful man to the end. He loved to help others, especially through the church, and did a lot of financial counselling there. Hobbies included travel and taking friends boating, tubing and water skiing at their lake property. Frank is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and his sisters, Gloria Schaffer and Merilyn Konsmo (Dennis). His desire is to be remembered as a man who loved his Savior, family and friends.

A funeral service for Frank will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. A reception will occur Friday, July 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. A graveside service will occur Friday, July 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at External Service Location, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133.
