Survived by daughter Jennifer Colella, son-in-law Bobby Colella, granddaughter Abigail Colella, grandson Joshua Meyer, sister Patricia Learn, brother Leonard Henderson, nieces Alice McGuire and Cindy Bowen, and many first and second nephews and nieces. Predeceased by father Frank Neubert Sr., mother Lucille Parkinson, brother Bill Henderson, sister Alice Neubert, and aunts Mary and Elizabeth.
Frank was born in Seattle, Washington, and lived most of his life in Seattle. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1969, he attended North Seattle Community college, where he enjoyed piano instruction, Literature, Psychology, History, and Spanish. Frank began working with his father in transportation, eventually leading to a career as a downtown Seattle bus driver with Metro Transit, retiring with many awards and a 16-year safe driving record.
Frank was an accomplished, talented, and well-known local musician in the Pacific Northwest as a keyboardist and vocalist. His love of music took him to many public and private engagements. Sharing the stage with numerous local and global fellow musicians in the 1970s through the 1990s Frank even wrote a musical autobiography detailing nearly every show with his bandmates titled "Rockin' the weekends with ‘Sparky and the Starfires’ Rollin’ with a hard-workin’ Seattle band."
Frank loved science fiction, which led him to write his second book, '"Watchers of the Light." His love of writing stirred him to begin a third novel, but sadly, he did not have the opportunity to finish it. Frank's impeccable memory and mental recall, combined with his eccentric personality, was a unique gift. He could vividly recall dates and details of historical and current events, making him an interesting conversationalist.
In Frank's early youth, he enjoyed building and racing RC hydroplanes at Greenlake in Seattle and flying RC planes in the open field of the Kent valley and south end. He was a long-time member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. His hobby became his passion when he was no longer playing music.
Frank loved weekly gatherings with his family at local restaurants. He also enjoyed local diners. His favorite was Leena's Cafe in North Seattle, which he visited almost daily.
Please come join us for Frank’s Celebration of Life. It will be held at 1 pm on March 25, 2023, at Evergreen Washelli of North Seattle. For more information and to RSVP, please email the family at: [email protected]
