

Fred was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 25, 1929. His family moved to Omaha, Nebraska during his childhood where he graduated from Omaha Central High School in June 1947. He enlisted in the Air Force spending time in Trinidad and Puerto Rico before being assigned to a Strategic Air Command B-29 squadron based in Topeka, Kansas.
Fred was discharged and moved to Seattle, Washington to attend the University of Washington. While in school, he met and married his wife Helen in September 1956. Upon graduation from the UW Business School he went to work in the food industry for the Nabisco Corporation.
After 5 years at Nabisco, Fred joined MJB Coffee where he worked for the next 30 years becoming a District Sales Manager for the company. MJB was eventually purchased by the Nestle Corporation where Fred worked until his retirement in 1992.
During his retirement Fred enjoyed fishing, traveling and Husky football, his life long passion which he developed during his days at UW. Fred attended every home game from 1970 up until he turned 90 in 2019. He also attended over 50 road games around the country and a number of bowl games. Fred was a Husky fanatic and a true "Road Dawg."
During his stint in the Air Force, Fred was a radio operator on B-29's and came back to that skill later in his life earning his ham radio license (AF7FR) in 1993 and enjoying many radio friends and contacts both in the United States and abroad.
Fred passed away after a short illness on November 12, 2021 at age 92.
Fred is survived by his wife of 65 years Helen, his sons Steven and Craig and many friends and family.
There will be no service at this time but a Celebration of Life is being planned for the spring.
