

It is with great sadness and overwhelming grief the children of George L Hindman share his passing. He passed peacefully the morning of Friday October 11, 2024 with both of his children by his side.
George was 80 years old at the time of his death.
George was born July 15, 1944 in Colón, Panama. He was the oldest of 3 children. George grew up in Ballard and attended St Alphonsus Catholic School. He graduated from Ballard High School Class of 1962. He played football and ran track for Ballard. Lettering in both sports.
George met the love of his life Joan in 1964 and they were married at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church on November 21, 1970 in Seattle. They were married for 50 years.
He graduated from Shoreline Community College and worked at the Shipyards before starting a 30+ year career with Boeing. Earning many awards for his attention to detail and commitment to his job.The family moved from Seattle to Lake Forest Park in 1979. George was a 45 year resident of Lake Forest Park until his death.
George coached many of his son Brian's soccer and baseball teams. Never missing a game. George enjoyed being active in his children's lives.
George and Joan started camping at Sun Lakes in Coulee City, WA in the 1960's with her parents and they continued the tradition with their own children for over 40 years.
He enjoyed those camping trips, sightseeing, movies, all genres of music from Santana and The Beatles to Eminem and everything in between. He had a love for a great steak, a good BBQ and he was a connoisseur of cheeseburgers knowing where all the best restaurants were. He was a life long Dallas Cowboys fan and fulfilled a dream of seeing the Seahawks play the Cowboys in Dallas at AT & T Stadium in 2015. He was also a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan and long time Season Ticket Holder since 1977. He loved being at the Kingdome and eventually Lumen Field. His daughter Debra and he could be found at Lumen Field every Sunday watching football together.
George was also a fan of college football, NASCAR, NHRA and hockey, with The Seattle Kraken and Everett Silvertips being his favorites. George enjoyed gardening and plants and flowers as well. His son Brian and he spent lots of time talking about and bonding over cars, car races and attending car shows.
He enjoyed classic cars and his beloved Corvette.
George was outgoing, very funny with a great sense of humor. He was always the one to make people laugh. He fought thru many health battles over the years and never asked why me. He was smart, observant and always believed everything happened for a reason. He was kind hearted, loved life and enjoyed being with his family. He wanted the best for his children and worked hard to give them everything he didn't have. He was a loving husband and devoted dad. His children were his world. After his wife Joan's death in 2020 George spent nearly four years mourning her loss and he could be found at Evergreen Washelli visiting her gravesite almost every day.
George is predeceased by his beloved wife Joan. He is survived by his adoring children daughter Debra of Bothell, WA and son Brian (Michelle) of Marysville, WA.
His beloved pets waiting for him cats Riley and Ms and Rabbits Cadbury and Spuds.
George fought a courageous 5 month battle with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Even when was given his cancer diagnosis he still remained positive.
George will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a loving husband, a good co worker, a great friend, a fun neighbor and an amazing dad. He is forever remembered and loved by his children.
We love you dad and you will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you so very much. Thank you for being the best dad. We were so lucky you were ours. Rest in Eternal Peace dad. Cowboy Up! Go Hawks!
