Jerry Knorr, 76 years, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2020. He was the son of Melvin and Audrey Knorr. Jerry is survived by his wife Laurie, son Samuel (Alexandra), grandchild Audrey, and brother Charlie (Terry).
Jerry was born in West Seattle in 1944 and grew up in Lincoln Park. He graduated from West Seattle High School, class of 1962. He then attended the University of Washington and later served in the US Army from 1966-1968.
He worked at Ivar’s Restaurants for 30 years as the “Ivar Driver.”
Outside of work he had a passion for helping his community, sports and fishing. He coached his son’s baseball and soccer teams for many years. Most weekends he could be found trolling for trout or casting for salmon in the PNW. He also enjoyed camping, cooking, gardening, Seattle sports, and walking his dog Buddy.
Jerry met his wife at the Comet Tavern on Capital Hill and they were married for 36 years. Jerry will be remembered for his devotion to family, friends, and, of course, his signature mustache.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests making a donation in his name to PAWS, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the charity of your choice.
