She was born at home in Ballard on December 7, 1921 to Goldie Marie and Walter Peterson. She grew up in Ballard with her brother Walt and graduated from Ballard High School in 1940. She met her husband Howard as a teenager at the roller skating rink and together they enjoyed 74 years of marriage. With their three daughters, they lived and worked overseas. A long time resident of Woodinville, Helen later worked for 15 years as one of only 13 fraud coordinators for the U.S. Passport Office; a position she was proud of.
Helen was an avid traveler and spent many vacations accompanied by her three daughters and close friends. She was an antique collector and connessiour of beautiful trays. She never left a destination without one. She loved spending time with family and welcomed the large gatherings on holidays and special occasions. She had a witty sense of humor and always surprised us when least expected.
She is survived by her husband Howard; brother Walt (Margie); daughters Barbara (Jerome), Natalie (Ed) and Diana (Ramon); nephew Michael; 10 grandchildren: Jerilynn, Thomas, Charlie, Jennifer, Steven, Scott, Brynn, Morgan, Alex and Lauryn; 18 great grandchildren: Katrina, Kristiana, Maygen, Allisha, Sarah, James, Christopher, Rachel, Edwin, Alivia, Ava, William, Oliver, Andrew, Jackson, Julian, Makana and Stella; and three great great grandchildren: Helena, Bryson and Madison.
