

Hank was born in North Dakota on December 6, 1916, where he was raised on a farm with his parents, one brother, and sister. He came to Seattle in 1935. Soon after his arrival, he married BerniceRomunseth in 1941, and together they raisedtheir two sons, Larry and Marvin. Eleven months after Larry's birth, Hank was drafted into the army. He served his country during World War II in the South Pacific as a communication specialist in the Army Signal Corps. His diligence and skills with Morse code helped America's efforts to win the war.
When he returned to the States, he worked as a truck driver throughout the Pacific Northwest for over 35 years, from 1939 to 1974. During the early years of his retirement, Hank enjoyed traveling with Bernice, including trips to Norway, his ancestral home. Until the age 90, he was an enthusiastic member of the "Norwegian Male Chorus."
Hank is survived by two sons, Larry (Judi) Peterson and Marvin (Anne) Peterson; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He will be much missed for his gentle good humor, kindness, and generous spirit.
