
Hyon Koo ?John? Kang, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, was born on December 28, 1928 in Seoul, Korea. He attended Hong Ik University in Seoul and then served in the Korean Army during the Korean War and afterward became the first member of the Korean Air Corp. He was married in 1953 to his beloved wife, Kum Ye and had five children. He served as Director of the Dong-Ah and Kook-Do Theater. He later owned his own art gallery, the ?Tiger Gallery?. He was a talented artist who painted murals, portraits, and historical airplanes. His passion was building and flying radio-controlled model airplanes, and he won much recognition for his craftsmanship and flying ability. He also loved hiking, the outdoors, and driving to new locations. He immigrated to the United States in 1985 and became a proud American citizen. He continued his model airplane hobby and was featured in several news reports for his talents. He went to Heaven on February 14, 2007 after a brief, but courageous struggle with cancer.
