Well Dad, u know today was Mom's Birthday.   And man, this was your 100th this yr too.  So many yrs of fun birthdays not to mention 4th of July, father/mother days, memorial days, and labor days parties.  As well as just the 4 of us havin some good picnic/barbecue food for u both out back here just because we knew u both loved it.  Especially for You Dad cause we knew You Loved it out back here and besides u helped out so much around here when we had first moved in and had so much to do.  You were never afraid of gettin your hands dirty to help out and Marisel n I were and still are so very appreciative of all your help.  We both think of You often and miss You and Mom so much.  We would give a lot to have one more happy party out back with both of your smilin faces enjoying everyone around.  We just settle on the so many great memories You Both left us.

Thankyou for teaching us work ethic, how to love our Family, and how to love our grandma(s). I know you have to be extra happy now because grandma has joined you. I'm happy for you both although I Miss her terribly. She was one of my bestest friends and now I missing my friend I could talk to about anything. I've had three friends pass away all within under a year ..and grandma. Learning about grieving is a difficult lesson. Yet my faith has me believing that your all so much happier now. Grandpa..its 2022 now....and it's been one heck of a year already. If you were around...
The world is still turning and we have had a pandemic through the past couple years. Marisel and uncle are still caring for and loving grandma. I've had difficulties leaving the house due to Bill having cancer. Yet hes been tough through all of the treatments and man the appointments! 
Auntie goes over to see grandma frequently and brings her shakes n hamburgers and even brings over dinners like meatloaf! Mmm  
I miss you. Yesterday  was your birthday. I was driving Bill's dads car and it looks so much like your car and it made me think of you. Happy birthday grandpa!

Where to begin......its been 9 years and it still feels like yesterday. There isnt a day that goes by that i wish i could see you again.  However, i do see you. Every time im at my parents you’re there with grandma.  It’s difficult to see her without you still to this day. I equate it to peanut butter and jelly. They’re just better together. Im hoping to visit your site soon but its not an easy thing for me. You were always great to me and im sure if i were to see you again for one more day you would probably have a pip and a bag a chips ready for me. Thanks for all that you did.
You should know that Mom and Dad are taking good care of grandma. Its not an easy thing to do and im sure quite frustrating at times but shes in good hands, loved and well taken care of.

Hey Dad,
Another year coming to a close.  I still wish someone would take the time to leave a message for you or something once in a while.  Anyway, Barbie has been a little better about callin mom but for the most part all the rest are still turds.  Like I really expect any less from them.  

Denise's Bill isn't doing to good at this point and we're really not to sure how long he has.They're (doctors) are waiting for the new year to see what can be done but I'm not so sure there's much of anything to be done to postpone the inevitable now.  He's always been good to us and unfortunately we'll be missin him (way too soon) one day too.  Denise and him have moved back to this side of the mountains and hopefully when denise gets a little more settled in her new job, she'll get to see mom more often.  It's tough for her with the new job and helpin out Bill but she's really the lone grandchild that at least thinks and contacts mom despite her busy schedule.  

Well, that's about it and I'll be headed out tomorrow morning to pick up mom's JUMBO See's candy box for Christmas.  At 91 she's doin pretty good albeit a little slower, but she has the sleeping habits of a rock star and the diet of a 5 yr old AND I'm jealous :-).  We miss you more than any words could convey and we'll be by soon for Christmas.  Marisel and I love you as does Mom and we really do think of you often.  So many things around to keep us reminded of you.

Well Dad,  it's been almost 6 years since you've been gone.  Mom's still plugging away, but she gets a little lonely because of the many people that don't call AND seem to have forgotten about her.  It's still the same with only Uncle Jim, Denise and Bill being the only ones to visit or at least call.  It seems pretty shitty that they don't even call after all the times they made sure to come by on THEIR birthdays and holidays when the dollars were being handed out.  For me, it's kinda depressing and I didn't cookout one time for 2015.  Oh well, Mom, Marisel and myself miss and love you very much.

A test message to see if this thing is still working.  I had an entire paragraph to send...but it wouldn't let me.

Well dad...it's close to 5 yrs that you've been gone.  We think of you so much especially all the good times on the deck that you helped build.  I still haven't been able to go back to Catfish Corner where you (fittingly) had your "last" meal at and haven't had ANY catfish since then.  Was hoping to go on your birthday this year...but sadly...it closed down last August.  The Kent location also closed up in 2012.  And also...much to mom's dismay...Pleasant Gardens has closed down too.  No word or info on if it will open again.  We have been going there at least once a month as mom likes to remember you taking her there even though you weren't that crazy about the food.  You knew she liked it along with a Mai Tai and we tried to keep her in good spirits by going there too.  We would sit in the bar area bein as there's no more smoking and the two different bartenders got to know and really like mom.  4 months later and we've yet to find a place that fixes a Mai Tai she likes along with (old school) Chinese food.  Oh well...we'll keep tryin.  

We love you dad and many things are just not the same without you here.  Like I tried to tell you both...so many turds in this family with only Uncle Jim and granddaughter Denise keepin in touch with mom.  It's okay though as we'll always be here for her just like we promised.

Grandpa.. I think of you often.. Just the other day I saw a Coca Cola Semi (Truck)and it made me  still cry.. However I think of happy memories and that always seems to help. I've been so busy since you've gone.. work has kept me on this side of the mountains..and the price of gas! I cannot believe how it's gone up grandpa! I have to get over there soon.. It seems to have been so long, yet seems like you were just on the back deck for your Birthday and Memorial Day.I'm still not quite right with you bein gone Dad, but I don't let on to much to Mom or Marisel.  Mom is ok...but like me...she's not adjusting to well to you bein gone...but tries not to let on to us.  I know though...I feel the same.  We Love You Dad.

Grampa Briggs you will be missed but never forgotten. I will always remember you coming to our baseball games while growing up. After the game you always had a smile,a positive comment,and an ice cold pop ready for every one of us win or loss. Even as we all got older and played softball you still made the trips out to see us. Will always miss getting a request from you to hit one out.

We all wish there was more time, more hours in the day, more time to say goodbye.  I remember so very little of the time we spent together, it seems like it's been forever.  You will always be in my thoughts and in my prayers.  I love you Great Grandfather and you will be dearly missed. 

Hey dad mom is here with us today on the back deck.  You know, the one you helped me build.  Both of us with left thumbs, yet it still stands 12 years later.  Like us it may not be pretty, but it's totally functional and has stood the test of good and bad times.  





I will always remember how supportive and loving you were to me and all of us. Our fun trips all over Washington with Dad on his days off will never be forgotten. I'm forever grateful for your presence in my life, Grandpa. Little memories of spending time with you keep popping up in my head, like when we went to Leavenworth and you told me the snails were chicken so I'd eat them :) Even though you are not physically here, we can find great comfort in the fact that you will continue to be within our hearts, guiding us along our own paths. I'm so happy and relieved that you are pain free and now able to rest. This is not a goodbye, though. This is a see ya later, Gwampa!! I love you.

I'll always remember having spent time with you.. selling at the Market,having gone to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin for my birthday, and going out for lunches as a child when spending the weekend with you and grandma. Rest now Grandpa with All my love,
