Jim, the eldest son of Harrison and Frances Comstock, grew up in Wellington, Ohio. He is survived by his sisters Peg Comstock and Janet Krelko, and his brother Tom.
He was a graduate of the University of Ohio with degrees in mathematics , computer science and German. He spent a year abroad in Salzburg, Austria where he made many lifelong friends and traveled extensively in Europe.
Jim made a career in computers and worked in San Francisco when he met his wife, Katie. They married and moved to Dallas, then Denver and Littleton and raised their children, Kirsten and Kevin. After many years of being in the business world, Jim helped run the family business, a bakery in Boulder. After a successful run, the family then sold the business and their home to tour the Pacific Northwest in an RV. Jim used his final years fighting cancer, but lived his life to the fullest, touring the West Coast from Canada to Mexico, even working as a resident ranger for almost a year at a resort campground.
True to his nature, Jim survived 4 years past the doctors estimate with his positive attitude and strength.
He lost his battle but not his love of life, family and devoted friends.
