

Jim Sisley entered this world on May 13, 1924. After a long and productive life, he left this world on Feb 8, 2015. He was the first of four sons and one daughter of Leslie James and Blanche Howe Sisley.
A native of Seattle, Jim attended Lincoln High School and the University of Washington. He earned degrees in business (1948) and mechanical engineering (1959). Jim's first driver's license was from Minnesota and cost 25 cents. His first car was a 1929 Model A Roadster that cost $50.
After high school, Jim enlisted in the Navy (1943). He was part of the Electronics branch and participated in many special projects. He was stationed in the Pacific for 2 ½ years during WWII in Pearl Harbor and on many types of warships including the USS Washington BB56. Jim was there when General MacArthur came ashore in the Philippines. Jim was on the pier that was made by the Seabee's in October 1944. MacArthur walked ashore twice to get lots of photos.
After this tour of duty, Jim enlisted in the Naval Reserves. He was called up during the Korean War and served on the submarine USS Sea Dog SS401. After his submarine service he worked at the National Security Agency in Washington DC. He retired from the Navy at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Jim served for a total of 26 years including 8 years of active duty.
After his military service, Jim returned to Seattle where he met his wife Carol. They have been married for 54 years. They have two daughters, Susan and Ann.
Jim's primary career was as a Medical Engineer. He worked in the early days of the artificial kidney program. He traveled all over the world training doctors and nurses how to use this new technology. He went to several countries including the Soviet Union (Russia) and Japan. He would bring back dolls for his daughters from all the countries he went to and they each have large doll collections.
Jim founded Evermed - a medical device manufacturing company that specialized in catheters. These catheters were used for parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy.
Jim had several hobbies that he enjoyed including worldwide travel, boating, radio controlled model boats, amateur photography, metal and wood working and alternative medicine.
Jim leaves behind his wife Carol, daughters Susan (Stewart) and Ann (Scott), and grandchildren Amanda (Jerry) and Bobby.
