Janice Ann Bellotti-Pace Sheikh

Janice Ann Bellotti-Pace Sheikh, 73 years of age, of Bothell, WA, died on January 22, 2024, at Overlake Medical Center after a short illness. Janice met her second husband and the love of her life, Nadeem Sheikh in 2016 while working for Sound Generations at Shoreline Senior Center. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on September 21, 2018.

Janice is survived by her husband Nadeem Shiekh, her mother-in-law, Nasim Sheikh, and her brother-in-law, Rahim Sheik. She leaves behind her three sisters; Camille Cardente (Anthony) of FL, Marie Birch (William) and Anita Nascenzi (Bernard) both of RI, and three brothers; Michael G. Bellotti (Laura) of CA, Christopher Bellotti and Matthew Bellotti (Denise) both of RI. She was a loving aunt to seven nephews, five nieces, and three great-nephews. Janice also had a soft spot in her heart for her feathered friends, treating each like the valuable family member that they were. She leaves behind her favorite pet birds; Pumpkin, Chloe, Matilda, and Nunzio.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; Ann Vessella Bellotti and Michael E. Bellotti, father-in-law; Mohammed Sheikh of Mill Creek, WA, and her former husband; Lawrence Pace.

Janice was passionate about her calling as a Chef. She worked for Sound Generations, as Head Chef and Community Site Manager for their Senior Center Community Food Program for the past 15 years. In addition, she developed Kitchen Corner Catering, a full-service catering company that provided meals throughout the community for private and corporate agencies. Janice was also a Chef for Shoreline Rotary Weekly Breakfast Meetings and also worked for the University of Washington Food Service and Microsoft Food Service.

Everyone who knew Janice knew how much she loved helping others. Besides all of her volunteer work, she was also a teacher and helped others learn about nutrition and cooking through her classes, “Cooking with Janice”. Janice received the Spirit of Excellence Award, a peer-generated award, through Sound Generations. She was instrumental in providing her skills to support all of Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Activity Center’s major events such as creating the menus and overseeing all meal preparations for the largest fundraiser of the year, the Annual Community Breakfast, as well as managing the café during bazaars and training all Board of Directors. Janice also served for many years as President of the Cascade Vista Estate HOA and was highly revered by all the residents there.

Janice grew up in a large Italian family in Cranston, was raised Catholic, and attended public school in Rhode Island. She attended Cranston High School East, Class of 1969, and was a member of the All-State Choir during her high school years. She left home at age 18 to travel across the country and called Colorado and Washington, home. She received an Associate of Arts and Science (AAS) and Business Software degree at Shoreline Community College in 2010. In addition, Janice was also a lover of animals, especially elephants, an artist/painter, a crafter, and an avid gardener.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 27th, from 11-1 pm at the Shoreline-Lake Forest Senior Activity Center located at 18560 1st Ave NE #1, Shoreline, WA 98155. Coworkers, friends, relatives, and the public are welcome to come, pay their respects, and honor her life.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 29th, from 11:00-1:00 pm at the Chapel at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle WA, 98133. Grave internment will be at 2:30 pm (Private)

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made payable to the Shoreline-Lake Forest Senior Community Center in Janice’s memory and sent to 18560 1st Ave NE #1, Shoreline, WA 98155.
