Jean was an amazing mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend to so many!
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Pitzen (Bobby) of Seattle; and her son, Jim Thayer (Helen) of Stanwood; Her grandchildren, Mark Crain of Kirkland, and Bob Thayer (Danielle) and Jeff Thayer (Vicki), all of Stanwood; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Josh, Samantha, Blake, Adam, Owen and Ana.
Mom was raised with her sisters and brother and was schooled in Seattle. On December 6, 1942, she married Dad (Jim) and was his devoted wife for 60 years. She raised Judy and Jimmy thinking they were perfect angels (if only she had known) in the Green Lake area. She loved her job of many years at the University of Washington. She loved Seattle, her neighbors and friends. In 2006, she made the move to Stanwood to be closer to her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. For the next five years, she developed new friendships at Merrill Gardens (which she loved). She spent countless hours with her great-grandchildren, watching Little League games and basketball games, and going to birthday parties and family functions (she loved her last days).
She felt very blessed and always said she had a wonderful life. She was in no hurry to go to heaven but when the time, came she would be ready. She looked forward to seeing Dad, her mom and dad, and all her loved ones who had gone to heaven before her. All of us know that through her caring heart, love and faith she has made all of us better people. She was a very special person who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all! We look forward to seeing her again!
