
Jeffrey Charles BLUMHAGEN Age 63, prosecuting attorney for King County, Office of Child Support, passed away at his home in Seattle on Feb. 17, 2008 following a courageous battle with cancer. Jeff was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Seattle, to Evelene Thomas. His father, Orville Blumhagen, died in WWII before Jeff was born. His youth was spent in Amarillo, Texas and his high school years were spent in Puyallup, WA. Jeff received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University. Jeff taught high school English and Debate in Puyallup for a few years. He received his law degree from the University of Washington in 1975. Following law school he worked for Snohomish and King County. He was most proud of his contributions to the development of "Harvey", a software program used to assist the staff of the Office of Child Support. He was known for his honesty, integrity and strong work ethic. Two of the happiest moments in Jeff's life were on June 16, 1984, when he was united in marriage to Helah Adelman as well as the birth of his daughter, Rachel. He was devoted to his family and spent immeasurable hours listening to his daughter practice piano. He loved his pets, listening to classical music, reading, gardening and fishing. Jeff was a loving father, caring husband and a supportive son. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all. A private gathering will be held at a later date.
