Hi Daddy!

It has been one year, four months and 
one day since we lost you, but it seems
as though is was just yesterday.  What
an amazing father your were and how 
blessed I was to be your daughter!  I 
cherish all of my memories even more
now.  

You taught us the value of living a
quality life, not a quantity life and 
to "never forget where you came from".
Your incredibly quick, Irish wit was
legendary and you were ALWAYS up for a
good practical joke.  What great fun!

I remember our trip from Las Vegas to
San Diego and our rental car breaking down.  What a story!  I also, remember
our trips back home for Pasties and Evel Knievel Days; especially the time
when you wanted to switch drivers so you could drive 95 mph to make it to 
Town Talk Bakery before they closed. 
Just as we walked in, a man passed us
with the very last of the days Pasties!
You very rarely swore, but after spend-
inge eight hours on the road, chancing
a ticket and not getting Pasties it was
simply to much!  What a hoot you were!

You never really understood how many
people loved and respected you Daddy.
You would have been so embarrassed, yet, I think very proud, to have seen how many people came to pay their last
respects to a truly wonderful man. 

Your Naval salute took our collective
breaths away and was so appropriate 
given your devotion to your fellow
veterans.  You know you were my hero,
Dad.

I am sure that you danced with Mom on 
your arrival, that you gave Mikie, the
"Captain", a huge hug, that you held Danny Joe in your arms and that little
Gram and Grandad watched lovingly as you returned home.  I am certain that
Aunt Edna and all of the rest of our
family was there as well.

I want to THANK YOU Daddy for all of the sacrifices that you made for your family and for teaching me that the
greatest gifts in life are not those
that we give TO ourselves, but rather,
those that we give OF ourselves.

Dad - I missed you before you were even gone, I cannot imagine life without my nightly calls, weekly cleanings and frequent meals together much less the wonderful trips we shared and not to be overlooke....your pranks.  You are the absolute best; say hello to mom and my beloved brothers, grandparents and aunts and uncles.  Please tell Marilyn I reflect often on our big camping trips in the lot next door.  Like mom, you will live on in our hearts and minds forever. Thank you for the wonderful life and upbringing.

Grandpa was my last grandparent, he will be greatly missed and greatly loved in his new home. Camping trips and Montana will always be in my memories.

When I think of Jack, I think of family and friends. He would come to family get togethers and have us all laughing. It seems he was always pulling a prank on someone and every Christmas he gave cousin Kathy the strangest gifts:)  We will miss him!
