
Julius E. Pinchback was born on June 1,1924, He died peacefully with his family at his side on May 1,2013. Julius was born to George C. and Birdie Pinchback in Lockhart, Texas. He was the third of four children, whom all preceded him in death.
Julius attended school in Lockhart and Fort Worth, Texas. At the age of 18 he was drafted in the United States Army during World War II. During his years of service Julius also played Baseball, he was an Outstanding Pitcher. After his enlistment he played in the All Negro League.
After four years of serving his country Julius was Honorably discharged at which time he returned to Texas where he married the love of his life, Lena Lee, McClain on May 31, 1947.
In 1948 Julius and Lena moved to Yakima ,Washington where Julius commuted with several family members to work for Hanford Nuclear Power Station. From there he went on to help build The Dalles Dam, one of the largest Dams in Oregon.
In 1951 their only Son was born on April 18,1951, they were over joyed and named him Julius Paul Pinchback. In 1955 Julius relocated his family to Ogden,Utah where he worked and helped build Hill Field Air Force Base. The family returned to Seattle in 1956 where Julius went to work for Boeing as a machine operator. He worked there until his retirement 33 years later.
During his spare time Julius loved to travel with his wife. When he was at home he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Julius never met a stranger and was known to spend time with his extended family and friends at Goodyear as well as the Pancake House (IHOP) on Madison. He also had a love for photography. Julius took pictures of everything and everyone. He will forever be loved, cherished and missed.
Julius is survived by his wife of 65 years Lena L. Pinchback; Son Julius P. Pinchback; Daughter Doris Saeed; Grandchildren Lena R. (Frederic Sr.) Pinchback-Cato; Julius T. Pinchback; Anitra L. (Cordell)Pinchback-Jones; Major L. Pinchback; 8 Great-Grandchildren; 6 Great-Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews. As well as a host of family and Friends.
The family would like to thank everyone for their phone calls, cards and all acts of kindness during our time of sorrow.
