
Kent Hudson, age 77, died peacefully on Thursday, February 22nd after a lengthy struggle with Huntington's disease. He was born near Americus, Kansas, on October 23rd, 1940, and later moved with his family to Everett, Washington. Kent graduated from Everett High School in 1959. It was there that he met Maryann Robins, and they were married in 1960. Kent later enlisted in the Army, and was stationed overseas in Turkey and Germany. He served until 1971, reaching the rank of Captain. In 1976, he earned his Bachelor's degree at Southern Illinois University. He then returned to the Seattle area settling in Kirkland, and working at Builders Hardware and Supply in Ballard, until his retirement in 2006. Kent enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching auto racing. He was an artist, and was passionate about creating handmade wood crafts. He also enjoyed Scouting and teamed up with his wife to help support pack 566 for over 25 years. Kent was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife Maryann, parents Benjamin and Edna, and brothers Leland Duane and Darrell Dean. He is survived by his sister, Wanda, and brother, Walter Doyle, along with his children, Kent Jr., Kyle, and Arlene, and four grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Isabella and Lillian, and a great grandchild Jasmin. Funeral services will be held at Evergreen/Washelli Cemetery at 12:00pm, on Saturday, March 10th.
