極樂仙境!隨心所慾 !
逍遙自在 ! 超昇極樂!
Our Mom, Kiet Trinh Ha 何潔貞 was born in June 22, 1922 in Canton, China. Due to the Japanese war in China. She, as a teen at age 17 (rank 10th in her family) along with and her youngest brother (11th) were sponsored by her (6th) elder sister’s family. They left Canton, China to Hong Kong, then to Saigon, Vietnam.
Since then, she worked at an herbal medicine company, met her husband, and got married at age 22. They have seven children: three daughters and four sons. Through thick and thin and many uncompromising days. With countless sacrifices and heart of steel determination. She nurtured her 7 children at home while her husband (our dad) brings home the hard labor earnings to support the family. There were many shorted months but she always managed to find a way to provide food & shelter for us. And most importantly, her life goal was to have her children to be educated. Something she never have an opportunity to achieve.
By 1975, the Vietnam war caused her to relocate again as a boat refugee to Bidong island, Malaysia. She spent a few hard months there. With helps of children Tina, Harry, DC and lucks. She landed in Seattle, Washington in 1979. And united with all members of her family.
She and her family lived at the house in Southwest Seattle, WA for many years. Gradually, her children got married and moved away to have family of their own. But she helps raised several grandchildren there at that time as well.
Since our dad passed away in 2004. The younger children helped her in transition to a new life chapter a lot. Especially her daughter Ha.
By 2006, She decided to live by herself and be independent. She moved from the house to an apartment by Chinatown, Seattle. With that illuminating courage and unfaltering mindset. She made many new friends and played daily Mahjong, which is the game she loves. She lived happily there until March 5th, 2024. She passed & rested peacefully at her own home.
She has been vacationed oversea to Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, England, France, Italy, Germany and Portugal in her lifetime. She had lived a life in her own way and her excellence will be forever in our thoughts. We love you & will always miss you Mom!
