

Kirsten, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully in Seattle on June 4, 2012 with her husband, Earl, and daughters, Susan and Kristine, at her side.
She was born Kirsten Rosbach Gaupseth on March 21, 1921 in Kristiansund, Norway. She emigrated with her parents, Sigurd and Kristine Gaupseth
and two sisters, Sigrid and Torbjorg. The family settled in Ballard, where Kirsten graduated from Ballard H.S. in 1939.
Kirsten is survived by her husband, Earl B. Broome, U.S. Army Colonel, Ret., They were married in June 1947. They lived on various army bases throughout Earl's long Army
career and moved to Edmonds after Earl's retirement. Kirsten is also survived by her twin daughters, Susan Broome and Kristine Broome, both
of Shoreline WA, her son, Richard E. Broome (Pamela), Bozeman, MT and daughter, Marigail Abinanti (Leroy), Surprise AZ.
Kirsten had eight grandchildren, Barbara Avery, Karen Henderson, David Broome, Michael Broome, John Broome, Cathryn Broome Davis, Laurel
Tronsen and Kara Tronsen. She also had six great grandchildren, Rebeca, Sara, Kenny, Whistler, Hayse and Stella.
The family held a private celebration of Kirsten's life. The entire family is very grateful to the staff of Foss Nursing Home who provided Kirsten with loving care her entire stay but especially in her final days.
