Lawrence Bert Lundberg was born in Seattle on January 18th, 1947 to Bert and Solveig Lundberg. He attended Ballard High School, the University of Washington, and the University of Minnesota Law School. Larry and Laurene knew each other from high school and married in August of 1970. Larry was a member of the Bar Association in both Washington and Alaska. He practiced law until 2016 when he retired and shifted his focus to detective novels, classic cars, and vigilant readership of the New York Times.
Larry was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2005. For many years, a combination of regular jogging and daily medication held the symptoms at bay. In the last three years, the progression became severe. He was especially thankful for his lifelong friendships from growing up in North Beach, attending Ballard High School and through Our Redeemer's Church. Visits with these friends were always a highlight for him.
Larry was a 42 year resident of the Blue Ridge neighborhood in Seattle, before moving to Edmonds in 2018 and then Magnolia in 2022. Larry loved their view condo in Edmonds and especially enjoyed reading out on their west facing deck, watching the ferries come in and out of the harbor. Later he was very fond of his Magnolia condo as it afforded him frequent visits from Nicole and Quinn.
Larry died peacefully on July 19, 2019 in Seattle, WA. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole McCormick, Nicole's husband, Sean, and Larry's grandson, Quinn. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Laurene, daughter, Kathryn, and son, Michael.
