Chun was born on Tuesday, October 12, 1943, in Taishan, China, to Gee Min Lee and Sik Yu Lee. He spent his early years in rural China where he loved to climb trees and play in the fields and river with his friends.
Chun completed high school in China and immigrated to the United States shortly thereafter in search of better opportunities. The family settled in Seattle. He earned a drafting certificate from South Seattle Community College and found work as a drafter at Stenson-Ross Machine Company.
Chun later realized he wanted to further his education and put himself through night school at South Seattle Community College, where he achieved his Associate of Arts and Science in Mechanical Technology. He later worked for Weyerhaeuser and retired from Boeing.
Chun met the love of his life May Hun Chin, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and quiet strength. They enjoyed cruising and traveling and went to many American cities and countries such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia and the eastern Caribbean. They were married for 52 years.
Chun loved to do DIY projects around the house. He built a deck in the yard, installed a lawn sprinkler system, and poured his own concrete walk. He also enjoyed taking walks and playing ping pong.
Chun was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother. He is survived by his devoted wife, May Hun Lee; his three children Ken (Maria) Lee, Eva (Ryan) Eng and Glenn (Christina) Lee and his five grandchildren, Alyssa, Logan, Sophie, Jonathan, and Isabelle, along with many extended family members and friends.
His life was a rich and diverse tapestry, filled with love and many meaningful moments, for which his family is deeply grateful.
