Dr. Martin (Marty) Lotzkar passed away on Wednesday, April 24, just two weeks before his 89th birthday. Marty was born and raised in Seattle, living in the Seattle area for his entire life, primarily on Mercer Island. After graduating from Garfield High School, he went on to the University of Washington for both his undergraduate and dental school degrees. Marty remained a devoted Husky fan for his whole life. When he wasn't rooting for the Huskies, he could be found at his dental office in Bellevue, where he saw loyal patients for over 50 years, on the golf course, or at all of his grandchildren's events. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine, his three children, Stephen, John, and Amy, and their spouses, Stacy, Danielle, and Allen. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren: Justin, Connor, Ashley, Caroline, Rachel, Ryan, Megan and Hailey. Marty was beloved by his family and friends for his warm and easy-going nature, his affectionate and approachable manner, and his mischievous sense of humor. He shared his sweet, wonderful smile with anyone who came his way, and he will be greatly missed.
