

Mattie Lee Robinson, 75, of Bothell, Washington passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 8:06 a.m. She was born March 6, 1942 in Taylorsville, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Clyde and Nancy Jane (Sampson) Duckworth.
She was the only Black Female Driver of the Year (1994), in King County Metro Transit history. Mattie retired in 2008 as a Transit Operator for the King County Metro Transit system with 30 years of service and was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union local 587, National Committee to preserve Social Security and Medicare leadership circle, and a member of the AFSCME Retirees.
She enjoyed spending time with her group of girlfriends, exercise, reading, cooking, cheering on the Seattle Storm, and Seattle Seahawks.
Mattie leaves to mourn her: Curtis Robinson, the father of her children; three daughters, Towanna Jones, Pamler Robinson and Mary Jane Mayfield, all in Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John Duckworth from Chicago, Illinois and sister, Geraldine Johnson of Jonestown, Mississippi. In addition, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtis Brown of Jonestown, Mississippi, and brothers, Jessie Duckworth of Chicago, Illinois and J.C. Duckworth of Jonestown, Mississippi.
The Memorial service will be held at Bethel Christian Church, 200 24th Ave S. Seattle, WA 98144, Friday December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The ashes will be interned on Saturday December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Ave North Seattle, WA 98133.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local Cancer Society in her name.
