Michael S. Alexopoulos, 36, passed away September 1, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. He was born on December 29, 1988 in Federal Way, WA and has been a resident of the wider Seattle area for the past 10 years.
Michael grew up in Sedro Woolley, WA, where he graduated high school in 2006. He was a lover of pop culture and the arts, particularly music and cinema. Growing up, he spent most of his time studying horror films, making short movies and edits, as well as using his signature resourcefulness to transform everyday objects into makeshift studio equipment. He was also well known for his excellent music taste; in those early days of the internet, he would scour the web for his favorite tunes and burn eclectic mix CDs for friends and family. When he wasn’t tinkering with tech, he’d usually be drawing or rustling up something in the kitchen.
Michael was nicknamed “Big Mike” and remembered by everyone as a gentle giant for his incredible compassion toward both people and animals — he was especially partial to bringing home stray dogs. Michael was also known for his unique sense of humor.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Spiridon. He is survived by his mother Euginia Tsantilas Alexopoulos, his brother Evangelos (Evan) and sister Stavroula (Voula) Alexopoulos. He is also survived by his beloved aunts, uncles, and several cousins.
Michael will be laid to rest with his family on September 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home and Cemetery 11111 Aurora Ave N. Seattle, WA 98133.
