Michael John Andrews began his life on November 15, 1939. He was born in England to Irene and Arthur Andrews. He had an older brother, Arthur, and a younger brother, Monte, and together they were a family.
After World War II, Michael's father immigrated to Canada to provide a better life for his family. He sold all the furniture in the house, moved his family in with his aunt, and sailed to the "land of opportunity." Six months later, he had saved enough money to get four more tickets for his family to join him. The boat left Southampton, England, and arrived seven days later in Quebec City, Canada. Together, they lived on a farm in Georgetown.
At 17 years old, Michael joined the Royal Canadian Navy. He traveled around the world, and two years later was honorably discharged.
In the late fifties, Michael moved to California where he met Judith Ellen Hill, the love of his life. They married Oct. 20, 1962 and were ready to start a family of their own. They were first blessed with David, their oldest son, and three years later, Brian. Their family was complete.
Mike valued his family above all else, and worked hard as not only a successful businessman in the auto industry, but also as a husband and a dad. Together, they taught their boys how to love, respect others, laugh, enjoy life, and be strong.
He shared his passion for hunting, fishing, and traveling, as well as his love for his many pets with the ones he loved.
In 1995 Judy passed, leaving the family deeply saddened.
Tonya Jenkins "Tonki" came into his life, along with her children, Shawna and Justin. They too shared a love, and continued to be an important part of each other's life.
Mike was an inspiration to those who watched him bravely battle the tough times of a stroke that eventually took his life. He never let the challenges of his health get in the way of his fighting spirit, and gave each day his very best. Mike passed on March 5th , 2010 peacefully with the support of Tonki, and Shawna by his side.
Whether he was a Dad, brother, husband, friend, Mike, Mikie, or Spike . . . .everyone knew how special he was.
