Michel was a gifted mechanic - both by profession and by passion - rebuilding his own vehicle or lending his skills to friends. His hands were as skilled with tools as his heart was with people. Always empathetic, Michel never hesitated to help anyone who asked or to offer a listening ear when someone was in need. He went out of his way to ensure his friends and loved ones were taken care of.
Michel always knew how to light up a room. He brought joy to family and friends alike through his quick wit, infectious humor, and playful physical antics. Michel enjoyed fishing with his buddies and hoped to have a pet raccoon some day. As an adrenaline junkie, Michel loved to race cars and motorcycles, always testing limits. When he wasn’t spending time outdoors, on the road, or in the shop, he could be found in late-night gaming sessions playing Farming Simulator.
Michel was predeceased by his grandmother, Jan Cobb, and is survived by his loving parents, Casey and Heather Smith; siblings, Alexandra Smith and Jared Smith; and grandparents, Steve Cobb, Barbara Smith, Torney Smith, and Kris Smith.
A memorial party celebrating Michel’s life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Nile Shrine Center Ballroom, in Mountlake Terrace, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Michel’s name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (afsp.org).
Michel’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and connection. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. You are invited to share pictures, videos, and stories to celebrate Michel at Forever Missed: michel-ryan-smith.forevermissed.com.
