

Mildred Louise Davolt passed away from this life on Saturday, August 24 in Boise, ID where she had resided since 2016. She was attended to by her son David and his wife Melody, and Deborah, her daughter.
Mildred was born in Ethel Missouri to Leonard and Annie Ratliff and grew up on farms in the area with her four brothers and two sisters. She graduated from Bucklin High School and received a teaching certificate in Kirksville and subsequently taught school in a one-room schoolhouse outside of Ethel.
Mildred became acquainted with Arnold at a church picnic at Ethel Lake and they were married on December 28, 1949 in the living room of her parents' home. Moving to Seattle with Arnold, she created a home and found community in West Seattle Christian Church. The following years saw four children: David, Deborah, Steven and Robert and various homes around the country as Boeing sent the family in various directions. After Robert's birth, the family created a home in the Shorewood neighborhood just outside of Seattle.
Mildred was active in school PTA programs and Kindergarten organizations serving in various forms of leadership. She enjoyed singing in church choirs and helping with women's groups. She followed Arnold in his endeavors at Pleasant Valley Christian Camp as well as with various activities for each of the four children. After Arnold's death, she moved to Boise and was active at Eagle Christian Church in Surprise Valley.
Mildred is survived by her children: David (Melody) Davolt of Boise, Idaho; Deborah Couturier of Nampa, Idaho; and Steven (Connie) Davolt of Seattle; and grandchildren - Jeffery (Erin) Davolt, Jennifer (Brett) Davolt-Harris, Jesse (Mackenzie) Davolt, Mark McDaniel, Matthew McDaniel, Jessica (Travis) Kildow, Michael (Bonny) Davolt and Meghan (Dori) Miller-Davolt as well as 15 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Jesse Arnold and son Robert Wayne.
The family suggests memorials to Pleasant Valley Christian Camp, or Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle.
A Memorial Service will be held at The Terraces in Boise on Sunday, September 15 at 3:30pm and at West Seattle Christian Church in Seattle on Saturday, September 21 at 11am. Interment will be at The Tahoma National Cemetery on Monday, September 23 at 1:30pm.
