
Nancy Bryant MEYER Was born March 29, 1932 in Wenatchee, Washington, the only child of Harley and Nance Bryant. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1950, attended the University of Washington in 1950 and 1951 and was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. She married Robert Goodfellow, also from Wenatchee, in 1957. They had two children, Peter and Nanna Goodfellow during their eight year marriage. Nancy moved to Seattle and met Paul Meyer in 1968 when he was with the King County Freeholders. She worked on the Freeholder's staff helping in the successful passage of the new King County Charter. She married Paul Meyer in 1969 and took on the added responsibility of raising Christopher and Jay Meyer together with Peter and Nanna. The merged family established a home in Olympia where Nancy was active in the League of Women Voters, co- chairman of the State Equal Rights Bill movement and involved in ECCO-the Evergreen College Community Organization, helping to support the new Evergreen college effort to integrate into the Olympia community. The family moved to Seattle in 1974. When her children reached high school age, Nancy began selling residential real estate for a period of 18 years. She was a member of the Seattle Tennis Club and the University Presbyterian Church as well as active in the Seattle Opera Guild and the Amici Dell Opera support group. Her favorite activity was reading and her favorite place to be was at the cabin her father and mother built on the shore of Lake Chelan. Nancy died peacefully on Friday, July 20th at the Bailey-Boushay House from a brain tumor. She was always a caring wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by son, Peter wife, Kathleen and grandson, Robert Morgan; daughter, Nanna; and son, Jay Meyer wife, Gloria and his two children, Mark and Kimberly Meyer. Her son, Christopher preceded her in death in 1993. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday July 27, at the University Presbyterian Church located at 4540 - 15th Avenue N.E. in Seattle.
