

Naomi Berg was born on July 5, 1947 in Providence, Rhode Island to Arthur and Byrna Klein. She grew up in an Air Force family and lived in many places, such as Louisiana, Texas, California, Florida, and Washington, as well as two years in Okinawa, Japan when she was 8.
Naomi attended CE Byrd High School in Shreveport, Louisiana and studied Musical Theory at the University of Miami. She graduated from the RN Program at Bellevue College with an Associate’s degree in 1982. She worked in nursing for 35 years.
Naomi married Louis Berg in 1969 in Seattle, and their son Leigh Jacob was born in 1973.
Naomi was a supporter of City of Hope, Communities of Belonging, and was a member of the Seattle Repertory Theater, and the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA.)
She loved the color purple and enjoyed sporting purple hair. She also loved gems and crystals, puppies, turtles, photography, travel-especially to Egypt, attending plays, and being by the water.
Naomi passed peacefully on March 30th in Renton, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents Bryna and Arthur Klein, her sister Debra, and her beloved son Leigh.
Naomi is survived by two grandchildren, Sophia and Zachary Berg; niece Jenn Foss, nephew David Foss, cousins Rich Siden, Stephen Pritzker, Judi Hirsch, and Lillian Rose Ostrach Toborek; chosen family Mike Pachenker, Jon-Paul Pachenker, Leeann Finley, Italo Perich, and Kristie McLean; and many other dear friends and family.
Naomi’s Celebration of Life will be held on the summer solstice, Friday, June 20th at 4pm at the Butterworth Funeral Home in Seattle, Washington, followed by a time on Puget Sound. Those attending are asked to wear purple: Naomi’s favorite color.
