

Nellie Louise Bishop was born in 1916 and died in 2015. She was 98 years old. She grew up in Cornwall, England. She married Phillip Bishop in 1944 in England and then came to America in 1945. Nellie resided at her home, built by her husband, in Seattle, Washington for 70 years.
Nellie was a devout Christian and belonged to Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was active with various church activities which included being Treasurer to the Women's Fellowship group and belonging to the church choir.
Nellie worked as an administrative secretary at the State Department of Fisheries for 18 years. She also worked for the University Of Washington Medical Center for 11 years.
Nellie was a member of Daughters of the British Empire. She also belonged to the Gibraltar Chapter of the DBE. Nellie joined the Overseas Wives Club. She was State Treasurer for four years and held other state positions for a total of 12 years from 1978 to 1990.
Nellie liked to read and take walks. One of her favorite things to do was nibbling on cookies and drinking a cup of tea. Her favorite flower was daffodils.
Nellie leaves behind relatives in and around Cornwall, England and Seattle, Washington. Her nickname was Sweetie, coined by her husband Phillip Bishop.
Nellie was a gentle lady and loved by many people. She will be missed.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 1:00pm at Evergreen Washelli Tribute Center, 11111 Aurora Avenue N, Seattle, WA 98133.
