
Captain Ole Hendricks, 85, passed away peacefully at home, lovingly surrounded by his family, on October 22nd, 2002. Born June 26, 1917 in Sykkelven, Norway. He immigrated in 1930 to America with his mother Oluffa, brothers and sister. They joined their father Oscar in Olalla, Wa., where they built their family home.
He worked very hard from an early age as a Commercial Fishermen. He was a pioneer of the Crab fishing industry in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Ole retired after a long and successful career to enjoy his family life. He and wife Electa enjoyed seeing the world traveling on cruise ships and sharing many other cultures. They eventually returned home to enjoy the blessings of seeing their grandchildren grow up, graduate from college and begin their futures.
He is survived by his loving wife Electa II; daughters, Linda Joe Hoffmann, Alice Johnson and Electa III Norman Anderson; sons Larry Hendricks and David Johnson. Grandchildren: Maria, Skeie, David, Briana, Electa IV, Karen, Brian, Cole, Anika, Lauren and Robert Ole. Great Grandchildren Hanna and Kaila. Included in this list are dearly loved mothers of his grandchildren; Susan Heirholzer, Kris Hendricks, Teri Anderson and Jewells Berg. Brothers Sigmond, John and Rolf Hendricks; sister Perdy Carlson and numerous loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Olaf Hendricks.
Memorial services presided by Pastor Seppo Hartikain of the Finnish Lutheran Church, will be held Saturday November 2, 11:30 a.m., at Saint Lukes Episcopal Church, 5710- 22nd N.W., Ballard. Reception following at Sons of Norway, 2245 N.W. Ballard.
