PATRICIA SMITH made a peaceful transition from her earthly home to be with the Lord on 26 March 2026. Patricia was born on 21 October 1937, to the union of Mr. Edmund Britt and Mrs. Estella Britt in Coffeeville, Mississippi. She was blessed to be a part of a wonderful family of God fearing parents, handsome brothers (Elvin, J.V., Wallace, David, Joe Louis, Billy, Edmond, and John) and four lovely sisters (Ruth Mae, Doris, Mae Sue, and Stella Faye). Patricia had three handsome children: Joddie, Gregory who preceded her in death, and Patrick. A host of nieces and nephews, grandchild Ebony Smith, her first great grandchild Manijah Smith, cousins and friends.
Growing up in Coffeeville, Mississippi was challenging as a young child. Patricia attended and educated herself in the Mississippi Public School system. However, most of her learning, development, and basic life skills came from the Lord Jesus Christ, her parents, and siblings. Patricia decided to leave Mississippi and head to Chicago, Illinois. Years later, she decided to join her parents and siblings and moved to Seattle, Washington.
Patricia Smith loved God. She had a passion for helping others, she enjoyed work to support herself and her family. She worked for several companies in her lifetime. She was a kind and loving person, a mentor, a teacher, a friend, she loved children, loved to sing, and carried with her a humble and beautiful spirit. Some of the things she truly loved were flowers, her children, and grandchildren, her favorite color was red, she loved Lollipops, loved doing puzzle books, loved action movies, loved discussing her childhood, loved collard greens, loved to eat, she did not like driving but loved to blow that horn while driving. One of her many and most notable moments of life was to see her children and grandchildren survive, and to see the first black President/Barack Obama.
As a mother to her children, Patricia was known to be LOVING, which stands for:
*L – Leader/Get it done, no excuses.
*O – Observant/Nothing got past her, she may not have said anything, but she saw it.
*V – Value/She valued life itself and what it had to offer.
*I - Intelligent/If you were not, you better act like you were.
*N – Nice/But truly it meant nonnegotiable. Her way or the highway.
*G – GODLY
Patricia was a proud servant of God. She was Baptist and served in the Usher ministry for various years, as well as singing in the choir under the leadership of Pastor Drayton Sr., of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The good Lord peacefully called her home on 26 March 2026. She was with her beloved sister Stella Faye, nieces (Denise Britt-Austin, Raymond (nephew in-law) and Teresa Britt-Hazard), She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
