Peter Niraj Ruchirat

Mr. Ruchirat was born on August 5, 1939 in Bangkok, Thailand to his parents, Narong and Manee Ruchirat. He graduated from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA with a degree in Business Administration in 1967. He married Pranee Ruchirat (née Yesuwan) in 1970 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Seattle. The Ruchirats moved to Bothell, WA in 1977 where they have maintained a family home since.

Mr. Ruchirat worked as a supervisor accountant at Seattle City Light and then went on to entrepreneurial ventures with Mrs. Ruchirat to include a fine jewelry wholesale business, a Thai restaurant, and Thai imports. In his later years, he went back to accounting at Airborne Express and also helped to drive the King County Metro Access shuttle for the disabled and elderly before retiring in 2006.

Mr. Ruchirat was always a kind, polite, and patient man. He was a devout Catholic and generous member of the parishes at Saint Brendan Catholic Church in Bothell, WA, St. James Cathedral in Seattle, Saint Mark Catholic Church in Shoreline, and Assumption Catholic Church in Seattle. He loved the music of the big band era and crooners like Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra.

Mr. Ruchirat is survived by his wife Pranee Ruchirat; his daughter R. Nina Ruchirat; his son Irving Ruchirat; his son Mark Ruchirat; and three grandchildren: Anthony Ruchirat, Lucas Ruchirat, and Evan Ruchirat.

A Catholic funeral mass for Mr. Ruchirat will be held Sepember 6, 2017, 11 a.m., at Saint Brendan Catholic Church, 10100 NE 192nd St., Bothell, Washington, WA 98011. A reception for family and friends of the deceased will immediately follow mass. Burial services will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, Section Q 520, 205 Northeast 205th Street, Shoreline, WA 98155.
