
Born in Denver, CO Jan. 23, 1928. Died in Seattle, Wa March 8, 2003 from complications of cardiac arrest. Raised in Idaho. Joined the US Navy in 1945 at the age of 17. Later moved and joined the Seattle Police Dept. He was awarded the Juvenile Police Officer of the year award in 1961-1962. After SPD, he worked for Howard?s Car Sales in Ballard until retirement in 1992. He is a life member of Ballard Elks Lodge #827 serving as Exalted Ruler in 1993-1994 and 2002-2003. Member of Ballard Eagles Aerie #172, Rambling Antlers RV Club, and World War II Memorial Restoration Foundation. He is survived by his wife Laurel Hageman Palmer, Son David Gigi, Ron Sandy, step children Joyce Michael Radcliff, Doug Patti Hageman, Linda Anthony Barbieto, sister Helen Steiner of Orofino, ID, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his son Robert Palmer, stepsons Steve Scott and David Hageman and grandson Matthew Barbieto. Viewing will be Thurs. March 13, 2003 10am-8PM and Friday 10am-8pm at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home. Funeral service Sat. March 15, 2003 12:30pm at St. Matthew?s Catholic Church, 1240 NE 127th, Seattle, WA.
